Here follows an account of the three days we enjoyed during our stay at Swithelbury Abbey.

The Abbey

WE MEET THE ABBESS OF SWITHELBURY - OUR FIRST DAY AT THIS RENOWNED SEAT OF LEARNING
By well on in the afternoon we had made our way to the doors of Swithelbury Abbey. Here upon gaining entrance to this abode of worthy intellectual endeavour, we were blessed (sans delay) with (to our great surprise and delight) none other than the illustrous scholarly presence of the Abbess of Swithelbury.


Acorn Gently laying her hand upon the arm of each of us (we were twelve in number) the Abbess greeted us warmly and bade us address her as Sister Angelica during our stay. Acorn
