All progress and all regress result from conditioning.

"Feeling, in some measure, accompanies every state of consciousness. It may not clearly be defined as pleasure or pain, but the basic elements of attraction or repulsion are in some degree present".

Each experience - whether awareness of an external condition, a physical action taken, or a thought - adds the feeling, of Conditioning Energy which accompanies it, to the thought-cells which comprise the astral body.

Such thought-cells comprise, in their various organizations, the substance and structures of the four-dimensional (astral) body. They are compounds of the various thought-elements.

Like the protoplasmic cells of the physical body, each of these cells has an individuality and a consciousness. But in its efforts to express this individuality, due to the freedom inherent in the (i.e. high velocity) four-dimensional realms, they are far less limited than are the physical cells of the (i.e. low-velocity) three-dimensional body."

Pleasure and pain - play an essential role in the form and organization of the soul.

Pleasure and pain, in some quality and in some quantity, enter into, and form an essential part of the energy of every thought cell, every dynamic thought-structure and every combination of that thought-built body - that organization commonly termed the mind, or soul.
