Yet few are the people who do not know of someone who rigorously followed some such method, only to discover it did not work for them. But can one expect that a method written for the general public should work for everyone? People differ in their genetic history. They differ in the chemistry of their bodies; they exhibit any number of idiosyncrasies.
People differ in the thought-cells and thought structures that make up their unconscious mind (or soul). The Hermetic tradition holds that the soul has been built by experiences which in turn, have built the thought-cells and thought-structures of the astral body. The soul finds its nourishment and growth in the experiences it assimilates. To attract the things of life one desires, to recondition this thought organization - the unconscious mind, or soul - one needs a detailed knowledge of its physiology. |
