All living things, even rocks, experience feelings. "All living things, even rocks so long as they are alive, are capable of some degree of feeling. It is this feeling acquired through past experiences that enable the form to respond in the manner it does, no matter how slight the degree, to changes in its environment. The feeling is a state of consciousness. And it is built into the stellar-cells of the astral body of the life-form as a tension, or desire, which conditions, or gives direction to, responses to similar situations in the future."
